Getting Set Up
Step-by-step guide to creating your WaxEngine account, completing the onboarding wizard, and connecting your eBay account.
What You Need
WaxEngine is a web app, there is nothing to download and no software to configure. All you need is:
- A modern browser, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari on any computer, tablet, or phone
- An eBay seller account, The account you list your cards from
- An email address, For account verification
You do not need an eBay developer account, API keys, or any technical setup. WaxEngine handles all of that behind the scenes.
Step 1: Create Your Account
- Go to app.waxengine.com
- Sign up with your email and a password
- Every account starts with a 14-day free trial, no credit card required
Step 2: Verify Your Email
Check your inbox for a verification email and click the link. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder or request a new one from the login screen.
Step 3: Complete the Onboarding Wizard
The first time you log in, a 7-step wizard walks you through setup. It takes about five minutes:
- Business identity, Your seller name and how you want your listings branded
- Marketplace, Choose where you sell: US, Canada, UK, Australia, or Germany. This sets your currency and eBay site automatically
- Card category, The card category you list in
- Connect eBay, Sign in to eBay and click Allow. That is the whole connection process (see below)
- Shipping, Select the shipping policies your listings will use
- Branding image, An optional branding image added to every listing alongside the card photos
- Review, Confirm everything and land on your dashboard
You can change any of these settings later from the Settings panel.
Connecting eBay
Step 4 uses eBay’s official sign-in (OAuth). You log in on eBay’s own site and grant WaxEngine permission to manage listings on your behalf. WaxEngine never sees your eBay password, and you can disconnect at any time from Settings. See eBay Integration for details on exactly what the connection can and cannot do.
Step 4: Explore the Dashboard
After onboarding you land on the dashboard, which shows your inventory metrics and the main workflow sections: Scan, Review, Analyze, and Tools. A good first move is to run Analyze so WaxEngine pulls in your existing active eBay listings and sorts them into performance tiers.
Your Plan and Usage
- Your subscription includes 1,000 AI card scans per month. If you need more, extra scans are available at $4.95 per 250-pack
- Pricing is $24.95/month or $249/year after the trial
- Usage is visible in your account settings, so you always know where you stand
Keeping Things Up to Date
There is nothing to update, WaxEngine is a web app, so every improvement and fix is live the next time you load the page. Your data is stored securely in the cloud and protected with per-account access controls, so it is available from any device you log in from.
Troubleshooting Setup
The verification email never arrived
Check spam, then request a new verification email from the login screen. Corporate email filters occasionally delay delivery by a few minutes.
The eBay connection failed
Make sure you are signing in to the eBay account you actually sell from, and that pop-ups are not blocked in your browser. You can retry the connection from the wizard or from Settings at any time.
I picked the wrong marketplace
Open Settings and change it. Marketplace controls your eBay site, currency, and listing defaults, so double-check it before publishing your first batch.
